Call for applications:HIV Young Leaders Fund Small Grants Programme

HYLF is a youth-led funding mechanism that provides small grants and technical assistance to youth-led HIV initiatives focused on young people most affected by HIV. HYLF facilitates the sharing of knowledge gained through its grantees with the broader HIV movement and conducts advocacy for a more effective response. HYLF is an innovative partnership effort between global HIV networks, donors and youth-led organizations.

In celebration of our 4th anniversary, we are proud to announce the launch of our new Global South Small Grants Program (2014-2016) for youth-led initiatives working to address the needs of young key populations affected by HIV, that is, young transgender people, young gay men, young people who use drugs, young people in sex work and young people living with HIV . The program has aspecial focus on young women living with or affected by HIV. We invite grant proposals for the 2014 funding round.

Eligibility and Criteria: Only youth-led organizations or youth-led projects (these can be within a larger organization or a new initiative) focused on serving young key populations are eligible for funding. For complete guidelines and eligibility criteria, please download the Request for Proposals (EnglishSpanish, French, & Arabic )

Work supported by HYLF: Local, national, regional or international HIV advocacy; Peer-based HIV services; Community mobilization; and Community based or community-led research.

Grant amount: You can apply for up to $10,000.

Deadline: All proposals must be received no later than 26 February 2014, 11pm GMT. The applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as we have limited funding available. We advise you to apply as early as possible!

Grant Decisions: A Community Review Panel (CRP) of young leaders with experience in youth and HIV issues will review grant applications and make grant recommendations. The CRP ensures funded proposals meet the needs of the communities in the respective regions. Grantees will have access to mentorship and support from HYLF and our partners.
