Apply! African Climate Change Fellowship Program

Applications are now open for the African Climate Change Fellowship Program (ACCPF). The Institute of Resource Assessment at the University of Dar Es Salaam (IRA-UDSM), in partnership with START and CCAA, has come up with ACCFP 2015.

The ACCFP provides experiential learning, education, and research and training opportunities to African professionals, researchers, educators and graduate students to enhance their capabilities for advancing and applying knowledge for climate change adaptation in Africa.

Types of Fellowship

  • Adaptation Science Fellowship– USD 14,000
  • Adaptation Policy Fellowship- USD 1500
  • Short Courses

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Adaptation Science Fellowship
    1. Adaptation Science Fellowships are awarded to:
      1. Post-Doctoral scientists working in fields relevant to climate change and climate change adaptation;
      2. Doctoral students currently enrolled in and conducting research related to climate change and adaptation as part of a PhD program at an African university.
      3. Other strong postgraduate candidates (e.g., experienced African professionals within established research institutions, candidates who are registered for a relevant Master’s degree program in a recognized African university) who are interested to carry out innovative research that advances and applies knowledge for climate change adaptation in Africa.
  1. Adaptation Policy Fellowship
    1. The 12 Fellowships will be offered to qualifying candidates, who are expected to be:
      1. Policy makers.
      2. Professionals from government ministries; or
      3. Researchers who have active and existing links with the policy environment and policy actors.
  1. Short Courses

Applications to participate in the ACCFP short course on climate change adaptation will be invited from African early to mid-career researchers and practitioners working in governmental/non-governmental organizations with missions to manage and protect lands, natural resources, habitat and species; master’s level graduate students in natural resource management, environmental science, conservation biology and related fields.
