As Country Manager you will bring entrepreneurial skills to develop new opportunities, alliances and partnerships. You will have excellent people and performance management skills. Your experience in programme management needs to be matched by your ability to act as an ambassador for Christian Aid and your commitment to communications and advocacy within the organisation as a whole. You will preferably have knowledge of humanitarian and emergency response programming. You will have a proactive approach to leading and delivering the changes needed to ensure we maximise the quality and impact of our Nigeria country programme. You will be committed to your own learning and development and that of your team. You will have developed abilities in strategic planning and implementation. And you will have a clear vision and a determined passion to make a lasting contribution to the eradication of poverty in Nigeria.
- Minimum of a tertiary degree or equivalent. Ideally the focus in education will be on international development and/or a related certification in management Significant experience of international development work including project management.
- Experience of working with organisations in the global south, emergency and rehabilitation work, partnership with local and church partners, fundraising from and liaison with back donors
- A strong understanding of the drivers of poverty and its eradication are important to the role. A first hand understanding of the country within which this post is based is essential.
- Excellent oral and written communications. Fluency in English
