Call for applications: Community champion on women’s economic empowerment

 

Women On Bus NepalThe Knowledge Gateway is an open global community for knowledge mobilization, innovation and partnerships for women’s economic empowerment (www.empowerwomen.org)

 

Our mission is to offer a user-friendly, demand-driven one-stop service community where you can find and share resources and tools for women’s economic empowerment and connect with experts, peers, networks and potential partners. We aim to create a cross-collaboration network between women and girls, men and boys, and advanced experts and professionals and enhance women and girls’ capacity to drive innovation for a better world.

 

Do you want to become one of the Knowledge Gateway’s Global Community Champion for Women’s Economic Empowerment? Get recognized!  We will provide you with support and guidance on online community engagement and advocacy for women’s economic empowerment.

 

As a Community Champion, you will get an opportunity to directly enhance your skills in online community management, build your own networks and deepen your expertise in women’s economic

empowerment through exposure to key experts and leaders in this area. We are asking for 6-7 hours of your time per week for up to 6 months and you can work from anywhere with an internet connection.

The online collaboration will be coordinated with the KG team.

 

Your volunteer input will help us achieve community collaboration, create an opportunity to bring issues that are far from the global attention and co-create solutions with a global community support.

 

What are the key activities?

 

1.Explore various sources for creative solutions relevant to women’s economic empowerment and share interesting and useful resources in the Knowledge Library

2.Write weekly blog posts on women’s economic empowerment challenges in your community and analyze our global community contributor’s ideas and suggestions

3.Create and organize at least one local “Open Circle” event with women and men from your community and share challenges, stories and questions as discussions in the Knowledge Circles

4.Lead and moderate online discussions on women’s economic empowerment and attract your networks of friends and colleagues to join the discussion in the Knowledge Circles

5.Advocate for women’s economic empowerment and make your voice heard via different social media channels (eg. Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, etc)

6.Participate and gain access to bi-weekly/monthly online learning sessions and global meetings with well-known experts and the UN Women Team in our Learning Center

7.Participate in mentorship events and activities with women entrepreneurs.
