Acumen Fund’s Global Fellows Program: Opportunity for Leadership Training for Social Sector Leaders

The Acumen Fund is accepting new applications for the 2013 Global Fellows Program which provides leadership training for social sector leaders in New York, USA. It is an opportunity for highly talented and passionate young professionals to reflect on their role as leaders, build their leadership capacity, and provide much-needed management support to Acumen’s investees. The mission of the Acumen Fund Fellows Program is to build a corps of next generation social sector leaders by fusing operational and financial skills with moral imagination to create solutions to global poverty and fill the talent gap. Acumen Fund’s year-long fellowship for the Class of 2014 will begin in September 2013 with eight weeks of intensive and multidisciplinary leadership training in our New York City office. Training topics cover a wide variety of soft and hard skills, ranging from self-reflection, negotiation, and storytelling to functional topics such as investment techniques, valuation, marketing and operations. The Fellows also meet with leaders from diverse fields, as well as leading writers and thinkers.  Training will explore issues related to our investment geographies and sectors as well. Acumen Fund seeks Fellows who will bring diverse backgrounds, training and experience to create a dynamic team environment. It welcomes applicants of any nationality.

  1. when will the classes begin?I am a Kenyan student currently in my final year which ends on the first week if may.i would like to apply for the program and i am hopping that it doesn’t coincide with my academic year.
